I like the biscuits here. Has good service

Giving this place a 1 star because I ordered a veggie omelette and being a vegetarian when I got ham in my food it sucked, then in the "fixed" one there was more. The server was nice not there fault.

Waitress was a little on the slow side but she did give us a omelette that was just going to go to waste

Just visited for the first time and loved it! We stopped in for brunch and really enjoyed everything we ordered (pancakes, french toast, fried chicken). Coffee was great and topped-off frequently.

The bacon cheeseburger had a thick well cooked patty. Tasty, satisfying, and good value. I'll be back!

Food just above room temp and was cold quickly. Home fries were barely OK. At least a 1/3 of the order was just hard crunchy chips, but OK and flovorful if you suck on them first. Eggs had to be small or medium. Had two, but not much there. Toast has minute melted grill butter, which is good, if there is some on the toast. Otherwise, there was no butter to be had. Now... The chicken fried steak was OK, but on the grill too long, as the bottom had thick, tough, chewy, slightly burned bottom. Gravy was cool, and got cold quickly.Service was Poor. Had to wait very long time to greet the server. Was told she didn't see us. Service minimal and waited long time for check, until we went to Cas out ourselves. BEWARE.... THIS IS CASH ONLY.. No cards (private ATM.. (fee) on premises.Just wanted to get out. WILL NOT GO BACK.Other than the above... Nice Father's Day.

Good food and portions! It was the day before Christmas and close to closing so service so so! A solid option in the area for breakfast and lunch!

Went into restaurant and noticed there is so much hate and discontent between employees and the girl that manages it. Asked to talk with this girl and she was not available, " she is never here but I will have her call". Took multiple calls and messages to talk. She said "I dont care what you say, I am the boss of everyone" and had a great deal of difficulty understanding articulated english. Employees are nice in cafe area but you can feel the stress and unhappiness in their voices.Unfortunately I will never be able to return as I demand a nice comfortable atmosphere when I eat out.

I really love Hi-Hat Pancake House. I have been coming here since I was probably 3 years old. A lot of great memories. Such a pleasant place to eat. Their pancakes are 2nd to none. Such a great menu and the service is always great. If I had to recommend any one thing it would be to try everything on the menu. Great views on the river.

Good prices and good food! Very casual, seat yourself, and cash/check only. We went for breakfast and had pancakes, eggs, and bacon which were all delicious. I'd definitely go again!

I have been coming here since I was a young kid. Hi-Hat makes the best sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches. I have ever had anywhere in the world. I just hope this place will never close so my kids can enjoy it.

Very good food

Great service and fantastic food. We had almost given up on good affordable food in the area. This place has some of the best french fries I've had in a very long time. The fried chicken was also great. Rest of my table got breakfast and liked the pancakes and french toast.

Ok service ok prices.....but serving size of sausage.... lacking

We shared an omelet. It was dry the Texas toast was just a thin piece of soggy bread. The only good thing about the meal was the home fries. This used to be a nice place to go for breakfast.

The food was good, and the prices were great. The waitresses were all super friendly but definitely a little slow.

There is a waitress in this establishment that needs to go into a different line of work. She was rude to say the least. I have frequented this restaurant a lot, but I'll think twice about going back, and if I ever do, I'll surely get a different waitress, or walk out.

Whenever we come here, the servers are always attentive and friendly. The food is fresh and delicious!

Hi-Hat is one of the most adorable and authentic diners. We came in near closing and were still treated with kindness and given terrific service despite.

The food is great, the service is too. The portions are good. I am all for nostalgia ,but It needs an update.

I've only been here for breakfast, which I love. Plenty of food and reasonable prices. Their homemade raisin bread toast and muffins are awsome.

Great friendly hometown service. Great breakfast at a very reasonable price. Very good selection of breakfast meals or they will let you create your own meal. Definitely will go back.

Probably our new favorite spot after just moving to Hallowell, from Missouri. Go in with the expectations of a breakfast and lunch diner and you won't be disappointed. I recommend the top-hat omelette and butterscotch pancakes with a coffee (best coffee from a restaurant I've had). The raspberry muffins are also delicious. They got a lot of flavorings if you feel adventurous and always cook up perfectly every time so far. Servers are fun and treat everyone like a local regular. We haven't had the lunch food here but once and I had a decent Reuben, breakfast should be the go to here though.*Seat yourself, cash and check only with an ATM inside*

We use to live in the area 2 years ago and went here all the time and it was really good. We were recently driving through and decided to grab dinner there. Not sure what happened in that time, new cook? New food supplier? Food was not the same. Haddock seemed as if it came from a box frozen. Husband got sausage gravy that tasted like envelope gravy. Waitress was very good though. Won't be stopping back in again..

Great lunch! I eat a vegetarian diet and was delighted by the fresh veggies in the veggie wrap. Nice atmosphere and view of the river.
